Information
Introduction: Implant prosthetics have long been successfully used for both small and large-scale dental restorations. However, dentists increasingly find themselves faced with the challenge of retreating implant-based prosthetics that have suffered failures over time, such as fractures of the superstructures, aesthetic defects, and wear of the dental prosthesis.
Dental implant preservation: In many cases, endosseous fixtures (dental implants) remain in good condition for years and therefore do not need to be replaced. However, after several years, it can be difficult or even impossible to obtain the prosthetic components needed for dental restoration.
Need to identify implants: Consequently, the dentist requires specialized equipment to precisely identify the implant in order to obtain the necessary connection components for the new dental restoration project. X-rays only provide a partial identification of the implant morphology.
The role of Jetimplant Srl: To address this challenge, Jetimplant Srl has patented an "identikit," a complete set of both threaded and hexagonal instruments, which can help gather the necessary restoration parameters. However, morphologically and structurally identifying the implants remains a major challenge, as two essential conditions are required to ensure proper fit of the supra-implant structures, abutments and abutments, i.e., the prosthetic components.
Lack of an "implant passport": This inability to identify is due to the lack of the so-called "implant passport," mandatory for implants performed in the 1990s. Therefore, the dentist is forced to use specially designed equipment to precisely identify the implants and obtain the connection components needed for dental restoration.
